                                                                              Technology Saves Lives

     In today’s society, many individuals see technology as devices that can be used to talk to their fellow companionships, browse through the internet, or watching TV. There are so many technological mechanisms out there in the world that can save a particular life each and every day. Due to the illnesses and diseases, three amazing individuals took their time to create an object to help others breathe another day.

     W.C Rontgen was the first man to ever discover the magnificent usage of gamma rays in 1865.  One ordinary day, Rontgen discovered that gamma ray creates a blue like glow that can determine and specify what bone he was looking at. With the help of his wife, she placed her hand underneath a dark elastic paper, and allowed her husband to create the gamma rays to pass through the tissue of her hand to observe her own bones.  Since then, every hospital in America uses Rontgen’s glorious invention to save lives. “X Rays” has change the recent decades of this world. It can detect any solid objects that are intruding the body.  With the help of “X Rays,” seeking out solid waste, one man had created a mechanism that can monitor the flow of the body’s liquid.

     Dr Solomon A. Berson made it possible to see what specific elements that can flow through the blood system including the amount of pressure. Many individuals in America are been helped with Berson’s radioimmunoassay to monitor their diabetes and diseases that can be fatal. Without the creation of radioimmunoassay in 1959, so many lives would be in stake, due to unknowing of materials, flowing through the blood system. So many clinics such as rehab, uses the radioimmunoassay to detect the abuse of drugs such as cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and other drugs. Thousands of woman each year, are pregnant with their child, while abusing the usage of drugs, putting the baby’s life in stake. Thanks to an intellectual woman, she created a device that can monitor the baby’s health for its own sake.

    In 1953, anesthesiologist, Dr. Virginia Apgar invented a machine that examines the baby’s heart rate, respiration, reflex response, muscle tone, and color. This is all totaled into a score, with a 7-10 range of being normal. With a score lower than 3, needs immediate care by doctors. The Apgar scale is not used to determine the baby’s future health, but to save its live within the first five minutes of birth. Thousands of babies are being saved in and every day, due to Apgar’s great knowledge. As bodies are being monitored by X Rays, Radioimmunoassay, and Apgar Scales, a man created a corporation to put a great resource into the body to save individuals with the loss of blood loss.

An American Doctor, Charles Richard Drew took his time to figure out a possible way to store blood plasma to be transferred into a human being without their body shutting down on them with old, contaminated blood. In the late 1940’s, Dr. Charles Richard Drew finally succeeded by learning how to store blood plasma, and leaning the different types of blood that humans carry in.

   I created a short video that explains and honor the four inventors that changed the use of technology forever.

The format that i chose was uploading pictures of special events that occurred in my life. Graduation, friends, and family parties. The music is a simple taste of family songs that we enjoy. I decided to do this because pictures tell a story of emotions, and the environment speaks for itself. I can reminisce the amazing moments that ive been involved in my life as i listen to music that makes the pictures come to life. Shaping this decision helped me remember when and where the moment that occurred. The slide  show Reminds me of the past in a simple, but most cheerful way!

The most interesting thing that I found  in Little Brother is how he had so much knowledge towards technology. How to use the technological devices to its full potential in ways that were hidden. Having the ability to have the knowledge such as little brother is so beneficial! Such as changing the ways throughout the day using technology. Besides the use of technology,what was amazing was how little brother and his peers  stood up for their freedom by versing the unfair trial.

As for instance, the most simplest material were used to create a new set of technology.  As they were growing their technological knowledge, little brother took a stand to fight for what was right.

All I Need Is My Cell Phone (Revision)

Talking through a square box seemed imaginable, right? Imaginable until the year  1973. Cell phones seem to be part of a person’s life around the clock as well as for mine. School, work, and even at home to fulfill communication to family members and friends. Using the cell phone is second nature to users who own one. Second nature by learning how to use the positive aspects to change a days’ routine. Texting is beneficial to keep close                contact with loved ones, and entertainment tools such as games, videos, and the internet. What many seem to misunderstand is that a cell phone is hazardous towards personal lives. For an example, spending too much time on the cell phone or abusing the cell phone during school hours can  lose a student’s academic talents due to the usage of cell phone privileges such as cheating. This is completely wrong. Before determining if a technological device is proven hazardous, the details of it being positive takes time to acknowledge.  Here are several different reasons that I can explain why a cell phone is beneficial to my personal life as a student and human being.

Math has always been complicating for the majority of students because problems seem too confusing without the help of a calculator in hand. In the article, of Suite 101.com, recommend students to use the calculator from their phones to elite students to be accustomed in using it when problem solving. According to the New Health Digest, it states, “Research shows that students will do better in math using a calculator especially using it at home as well in class.” It has proven from the Marco News Research that up to 84% of teens own a cell phone, with the help of the educational resources installed. In today’s century, a cell phone is no longer just a cell phone. With the cell phone that I have, the calculator helped me raise my test scores from a 64% to an 86% on my math tests due to the help of my calculator in my phone. Cell phones are not just a fun, useful tool, it’s about Educational advantages that seemed to be ignored due to the main focus of why the cell phone is used. If cell phones can enhance learning capabilities, cell phones can enhance in business such as work.

Knowledge is power when technology is used to its fullest potential. How does businesses and cell phones mix together well? Appointments and research on a company’s history using a travel like device. My life is always busy filled with personal events and errands to run before certain deadlines. As for me and most people, I’m not always home ready to answer the phone due to the business’s  preferred time. With my cell phone in hand, I am prepared to answer a phone call where ever I am at, at anytime of the day. To set things clearer, I work with a business that makes phone calls in order to monitor when deliveries are made and how successful the service was performed. Constantly, our team helps out one another when it comes to keeping up with flower bouquets, and have a set of flowers ready to go and be delivered on time. The company is based on business communication in order to become successful in your work.  Cell phones may enhance businesses to its fullest  potential, even during emergencies.

Emergencies come here and there, and having a cell phone can be life saving to yourself and loved ones. Family is always updated with positive and negative aspects that happened in life. Even when I happen to get stuck on the road, I always have my cell phone to be rescued. According to the, All I Need Article, it states how millions of people were stranded on the side of the road without the help due to no access of a cell phone. Technology is naturally generated to help individuals in the most efficient ways possible. When I recently experienced a road side emergency up Coral Hollow, there was no civilization or near possible that is, to help fix my flat tire. I was such in a panic mode I had no idea on how to help myself and my car conquer this difficult obstacle. It later came to mind that I have access to road assistance with the help of my “handy dandy” cell phone. Within minutes, help was on the way to help me get back on the road to reach to finally continue my destination. Without my cell phone to assist me on the help that I needed, I would probably be stranded for hours and would have to put my full trust in a complete stranger to help guide me to safety. To relieve the stress that I may experienced that day, I need my family to relax my frustration, and help brighten up my day for that sense of love and security.

In the past years, my cell phone has benefited my life in drastic ways. Talking on the phone is a simple escape for me to keep in contact with family members that I haven’t seen for years and years. It’s a sense of security for me when it comes to fear and loneliness. For instance, my cousins in Colorado. It has been 10 years since I have seen them and hearing their voices is very comforting. It has been hard for me to see my four cousins due to personal family issues. It’s very tough and difficult to email my cousins because I have no time in my agenda to sit down and write them a email about every detailed event that occurred in my life. The technology of texting is the new generation of email. I can basically email any of my family members without any difficulty with the idea of searching for an appropriate time to make time to email all of my distant family. My sense of security is traveled back and forth within a matter of seconds. Family is what makes a day, “a good day.”

Speaking through a mechanical box doesn’t seem so unrealistic after all. It contains so much benefits that some people seem to ignore. The benefits to help an individual to accomplish everyday obstacles form school, work, and the effort to keep in contact with family members. Cell phones is not just a device used to talk and gossip 24/7. To me, the cell phone has truly molded  the responsible person that I am today. The person who had and continues to drastically change her failing grades in to flourishing grades. The person who communicates with job in order to keep the business’s reputation solid. I am that person who loves and appreciates her family by keeping in contact practically every day to give an them a update of her life. Without the cell phone, I will completely be the opposite and negative person to ever approach. In my life, there is no such thing as the cell phone being hazardous towards my personal life especially towards the educational region.  I am living life with security and responsibility with my cell phone at hand.

Personal Use of Tech

In my life, The cellphone has really impacted my life. Family, friends, and loved ones can keep in contact with me at all times. When im going through something either positive or negative, i have my phone to contact family members or text them. I need it to get through  the stress that i go through each day.

Theres so many great reasons why it has affected me, but at this moment of time, i have to list all the important aspects that drastically changed my life for the better. As for now, i have an idea how i am going to write out my essay! Im Excited!!

GAMES

How do video games benefit individuals in socializing, thinking. and  the relief of stress? I mean games are just games right? That is one of the biggest misconceptions of games especially 3d games.  All games challenge the brain to think and interact with other individuals that can  either succeed or fail the main goal of the game. Video games are basically a  plotted story waiting to be interacted with. The “Gamer” chooses the destiny, to figure out the main comflict of the story. Its about planning out the solution, and figuring out the conclusion of the game. Games seem to have a great affect on individuals lives. ……(continue)

Valuable Sources

Valuable sources may seem true with listed facts and opinions. The main focus on a source through the internet is finding an author/ writer of the given material, and evaluate if the article has facts with listed URL links. Opinions and facts are totally different things that some people seem to ignore. There are argumentative articles, persuasive articles, and sources that list facts of the situation or a controversial incident. Bias information can be tricky and difficult to evaluate.

     For instance, television seems to have a lot of information that seems valuable. But how do you trust the televisions viewpoints information? Especially broadcast News revealing everyday situations? For an example, a news broadcast is CNN. It’s fairly easy to determine if the material is true because of the way the information is dated, and the page is professional with great organization. Every detail of when and where the location of the incident is there listed to gain trust of the reader. On the other hand, news information towards celebrities have a bias information because their sources are not solid. It’s basically word to word information. Celebrity information is assumptions of how the situation may or may not look in a photo.

     The internet is a difficult way of finding, true, solid, and valuable information. The greater the sources, the greater the information is.

The Meaning of “Literate”

The new media, technology, and literacy changes it’s new meaning from generation to generation. Within each year a new device is invented to change the process of learning. Learning how to activate the device, to read its purpose, and to self reflect on the work it can provide in the future.  To be “literate” it takes the brain to up grade and stay in focus of what is being generated to the world. Knowledge is the main meaning of literate. The knowledge to work the  material as advance the material gets. For an example, the main focus, the internet. Not knowing how to reasearch information and to relate what it can do to be beneficial. To be literate, its directing yourself to what new technology has to provide. Its not a caveman era, its a whole new world to be adapted to.

 

As a student, I feel like i need to focus on my ability to concentrate on one subject without any distractions. I tend to drift off and concentrate on something that is not so much important. Don’t get me wrong, i complete my homework without any hesitation, but I love to multi task.  Other than that i think that’s the only negative aspect about me that I need to focus on.
